I am so excited because spring is almost here. It's one of my favorite seasons and I don't know about you, but I am ready for more sunshine, fresh, warmer air and that feeling of renewal as we can shed all the winter outer clothing. There's just something about this time of the year made that it really makes you want to reset, declutter and create space for something better, and the subject of the majority of the emails that I've received over the past few weeks. They all have something to do with spring From spring decor ideas to new spring drinks, new spring food items on the menu, new spring styles, mini spring specials. I think you get the point. Everyone has spring fever.

But let me ask you something when was the last time you spring cleaned your business? If you are currently feeling buried under digital clutter, you're drowning in emails or you're constantly searching for files instead of doing the work that actually grows your business, then you already know this isn't just inconvenient, it's draining you, you're frustrated, it's costing you time, energy and it's blocking your progress. And I get it because I've been there. I mean, I remember one time that a client really needed a document and I knew I had saved it, but the question was where was it? I had saved it, but the question was, where was it? I had no idea, so I spent 20 minutes searching, digging through folders, scrolling through emails, retracing my steps, and I found it in the wrong place. So as I was going through that process, I realized I wasn't doing the work that actually mattered, and that was a light bulb aha moment for me, because then I realized I needed a real system for the way I stored files, not just another quick fix. So that moment when you're scrambling to find a file that a client wants and they're waiting for it, or you open your inbox and you know it's overflowing with things that you don't have time to deal with, that endless loop of spending hours on things that really should only take you minutes, you're in a state of chaos where you're doing the work, but it's harder than it actually needs to be, and that's exactly why we're going to shake things up a little bit today.

Now, before we get into how you can implement some more long-term solutions to fix this problem, I want to give you a small win, something you can do right now to shift your energy. I call it a 10 minute digital reset challenge, and it's going to help you clear just enough space so that you can breathe and see the forest through the trees. So if you accept this challenge, you're going to experience what's possible when you take control of your business. So here's what you're going to do. First thing is set a timer for just 10 minutes, because we're not going to turn this into an all day project. Yes, 10 minutes is all you need. Second, I want you to open up your phone and delete five apps that you haven't used in the past six months. If you don't use it, it's just taking up space, so get rid of it. The next thing I want you to do is open up your laptop and empty your downloads folder. Trash what you don't need Now.

I know that this is going to give some of you anxiety. You might be one of those people who likes to hold on to everything, so what I want you to do is start deleting anything that is more than two years old, and if you've already used it or you forgot why you even saved it, it's time to let it go. Next, open your inbox. I want you to look at someone you're getting emails from that you never read, pick five people and unsubscribe from that email list. That's it 10 minutes, a few simple steps, but you'll get immediate relief and when you're done, I want to hear about it. I want to hear how you feel.

Take a screenshot of your cleaned up home screen, or even your inbox, and post it in Instagram stories and tag me at the underscore Shannon Baker. Or, if you don't want to put your chaos on display, I can understand that Just DM me. Tell me how it felt to complete this challenge, because I guarantee you, once you experience how much lighter you feel after just 10 minutes of cleanup, you're going to want more of that feeling because you're going to like the way those endorphins feel. And that's just a small reset, but it's proof that small steps make a huge difference. But it's proof that small steps make a huge difference.
